Pharmacokinetics

GHRP-2 is a synthetic analog to a compound active within the gut, namely met-enkaphalin. Met-enkaphalin targets a receptor in the gut, the ghrelin receptor, which regulates growth hormone release and hunger levels.[2][3] GHRP-2, being analogous to met-enkaphalin, also interacts with ghrelin, leading to probable increases in hunger and growth hormone release.[1]

Scientific Studies

GHRP-2 has been extensively tested in both human and animal test subjects. In a study on health and lean males, subjects were injected subcutaneously with GHRP-2 and instructed to eat at a buffet. Most non-placebo subjects were observed to have eaten substantially more than usual. Higher levels of human growth hormone were also found in those injected with GHRP-2.[1] Another study observed the effects of GHRP-2 on swine. Though appetite levels were within standard error margins, increased amounts of growth hormone were also observed in the subjects.[4]
